Searching for "happy hour near me" in Google works for the bar a block away, sometimes. It does not work for the question most people are actually asking: which bar near me has a deal that is happening right now? That is the gap a real happy hour finder needs to close — and it is the entire reason we built Happy Hour Map.
Most "best happy hour app" lists rank apps that don't really exist anymore, or apps that cover a single city. After three years of building one, here is the short list of features that matter:
Happy Hour Map tracks 36,000+ bars and restaurants across 500+ US cities. Open the app and the default view shows everything live near you — green pins for happy hours active right now, blue for upcoming today, gray for "no deal at this hour." Tap any pin and you get the schedule, the actual deal text, and a tap-to-navigate button.
The map is the point. You can pan around an unfamiliar neighborhood at 5:30 PM and immediately see which three places have something going. No flipping between bar websites. No relying on a Google snippet that was scraped two years ago.
Beyond "live now," the filters that get the most use are upcoming in the next hour (for when you want to walk somewhere and arrive on time), favorites (so your go-to spots stay one tap away), and distance radius (half a mile when you are walking, three miles when you are not). A search box lets you jump directly to a bar by name.
There is no login wall. Open the app, see deals, walk to one. That's the whole flow.
Coverage is densest in major US cities. Three of our most-loaded city pages, with hundreds of active happy hours each:
If your city is not on that short list, search the full city directory — odds are it is in there.
If you run a bar, your happy hour is probably already on the map. Free listings are the default. What we charge for is the upgrade — pinned placement, push notifications to nearby users when you launch a flash deal, and the ability to keep your hours and prices current without going through us. Details live on our page for bar owners.
Cheap drinks are a small thing, but the friction of finding them is real. A happy hour finder that actually knows what is live, where it is, and what it costs makes the whole evening easier.
